Olympic Judo returns to Lake Elsinore
Judo is a Martial art and Olympic Sport that emphasizes takedowns, throws and ground fighting skills. 90% of all fights end up on the ground. Judo is a martial art that gives you the skills to take your opponent to the ground and end up in a dominant position. From the standing position you will learn gripping, throws, takedowns and foot sweeps. Once you get to the ground you are instructed on how to pin or submit your opponent using arm bars, chokes, strangles and leg locks. All classes are instructed by black belts certified by the United States Judo Association (USJA).
During classes at Elsinore Judo, you will be pushed both physically and emotionally. Judo requires the use of a partner so you will be constantly challenged. This type of training helps build strength, flexibility and proper use of technique to be successful in combat or competition.
Judo is not just a physical sport, it teaches attributes that can help you in your everyday life. There is an old saying in judo, "Get thrown 7 times, get up 8." Judo teaches you to never give up and have persistance to succeed in whatever you choose to do.
