California Shitoryu Karate is Lake Elsinore's only full time professional karate dojo. Our mission is to provide you with an experience that leaves you feeling great, and confident in yourself and in the karate skills you learn.
We empower you to achieve your goals, build your confidence and develop your "can-do attitude". You'll not only improve your physical health and fitness, and learn how to defend yourself; you'll also sharpen your mind, improve your reflexes and reactions to other challenges faced in life.
We have separate karate classes for each age group and skill level, so you or your kids will always be in a class that helps you learn most effectively. We also keep our student to instructor ratio low so YOU get plenty of individual attention.
All students also have the opportunity to compete in karate locally and internationally.

Karate for Kids
We have 2 kids karate programs available...
The first is for ages 4 to 7 years, or as we affectionately call them, our Pee Wees. This is an awesome program designed to improve your child's listening skills, teach them how to follow directions, to develop confidence and awareness, to instill discipline and of course to learn how to protect themselves. We teach them how to respect each other and other people.
The Young Samurai program is designed for kids aged 8 to 14 years, which is a toned down version of our Adult Karate program. This program develops character and infuses important life skills. Our karate for kids programs have been proven time and time again to help kids to better at sport, better in school and to stay away from alcohol and drugs.

Karate for Adults
Learn the techniques and concepts of traditional Japanese Shitoryu Karate.
Traditional karate when learned correctly is a devastating form of self defense. Perhaps that's why over 50 million people globally have chosen karate as their way of life. Even with the MMA surge of recent years, karate remains the most practiced martial art in the world. Simply because it works.
You'll learn effective self defense, kata, sparring, joint locks, throws and takedowns that will enable you to look after yourself and loved ones. Several of our adult members have dropped more than 60 pounds since commencing our program, and now enjoy a fitter and healthier lifestyle... so there's no reason for you to feel as though you can't do it. You don't have to be super fit or have any experience to begin. We'll challenge you and push you to your individual limit mentally, physically and emotionally. The result will be a more confident, empowered you.
Learn from a World Champion...
The head instructor at California Shitoryu Karate is Sensei Jason Stanley, 4th degree black belt with 25 year's experience.
Sensei Jason began martial arts at the age of 7 where he studied judo for 2 years, before switching to karate at age 16. Originally from Australia, Sensei Jason moved to the United States in 2002 where he opened California Shitoryu Karate. And while successful as a karate competitor over 15 years as a 2-time international silver medalist, Sensei Jason went on to win 3 full contact stick fighting World Championships. He won the single stick division in 2010, and 2012 won both single and double stick events. (Read more here)
