On California Shitoryu Karate in Lake Elsinore sent a small team of 7 students to compete in the karate games, all whom were extremely competitive. The team members included Aaron, Alex & Catherine Wallin, Colby Matthews, Sierra Rupnow, Nick Smith and Siobhan Gee – all coached by their instructor, Sensei Jason Stanley, 4th degree black belt. Most students with just a few months of training were all very competitive taking a total of 7 trophies and medals. The results were as follows... California Shitoryu Karate moved to a new dojo in Lake Elsinore in January which is equipped with a full size competition floor. "The new place is great", said instructor Jason Stanley. "The full size competition arena gives our students the opportunity to simulate tournament conditions, so when they compete at the real thing, they're already used to it... and as you can see, the results speak for themselves." California Shitoryu Karate is preparing a team to compete this year at the Kobe Osaka International World Cup, to be held in Greece from July 2-9. The event draws on average 1200+ competitors from over 40 countries.
